Tour Information

Tours of Frank Lloyd Wright's Fontana Boathouse bring to life the story of this long forgotten, yet architecturally significant design that Wright considered one of his best. When visiting the Fontana Boathouse you will have an opportunity to learn the history behind the design and how it found its way to Buffalo one hundred years after it came off Wright's drafting table. You will get an introduction to the sport of rowing and a sample of the rich 100 year history of rowing at the West Side Rowing Club – one of the oldest, largest and most prestigious youth rowing clubs in the country.

The Fontana Boathouse is handicap accessible and tours are able to accommodate those with mobility limitations however, wheelchairs are not available.

Weather on the waterfront can be unpredictable and may include stronger winds and cooler temperatures than inland areas. With a portion of the tour conducted outside, for your comfort and enjoyment of the tour please dress accordingly.
